20,000 PINGS UNDER THE SEA: LIFE ABOARD THE EXPLORATION VESSEL NAUTILUS: Talk by Dr. Jon Willis, Astronomer, Astrobiologist

In June 2017, Jon joined the Nautilus for its 3-week science cruise off Vancouver Island, in support of ONC’s Neptune observatory. Jon was an on-board educator providing a link between scientists and the public. During his talk, hear about life on board and review some of the highlights of the voyage as the crew dove into some of the ocean’s most spectacular deep sea hydrothermal vents. Jon is an astronomy professor at UVic and has recently published a book — All These Worlds are Yours: The Scientific Search for Extraterrestrial Life.
