CLASS DESCRIPTION: Homeopathy is a 200 year old system of medicine which uses micro- doses of natural substances to stimulate the bodies’ innate capacity to heal itself.
Homeopathic First Aid 101 presents how to apply homeopathic medicines in first aid situations such as: accidents, falls, fractures, sprains, strains, cuts, bruises, puncture wounds, concussion, shock, burns, tick and other insect bites and stings, eye injury, infection prevention, emotional trauma and much more.
The workshop will be tailored to concerns specific to island residents seeking to safely and effectively treat minor injuries at home or on the way to the hospital or doctor.
The class will begin with a brief introduction to homeopathic medicine. After this we dive right in to explore the ten basic homeopathic remedies to use across multiple first aid situations. Shoshana will share first aid stories from clinical practice sessions as well answering questions posed by participants.
This workshop will take place upstairs at the Community Hall on Saturday, February 25th from 11-1pm and will be led by Dr Shoshana Scott DMS, a homeopathic doctor originally from Winnipeg who came to her senses and now lives full time on Pender Island. Workshop fee is $5.
Dr Scott has been in full time clinical Homeopathic practice for 16 years and has taught similar courses at the University of Victoria, Pacific Rim and Camosun College.
